About Stanford Taxidermy
I, Andy Stanford grew up out east of Saltillo off HWY 363, where my wife, Melissa, and our daughter, Alisha, still reside. I loved the family land so I have kept my family and my business in the same location. I knew from a very young age when my dad brought home a deer kill from one of his hunts as I watched I knew this was something I wanted to do when I was old enough.
My dad of course encouraged me, he gave the deer hide to me and I examined it from top to bottom, inside and out. That day struck the fire inside of me. I got to when I saw any animal I would study it. Study its patterns as a turtle walked away how it left its path. How ducks kept their flight pattern. I also ask my parents to take me to a taxidermy shop so I could see what the process was all about. My dad did and the taxidemist gave me a magazine, that christmas my parents had ordered me alot of supplies so I could mount my own deer.I was like a kid in a candy store! From that day forward I was obssessed with animals. As a young boy, I trap for many factories in the area as beaver would dam up the waters behind their factories. I cooned hunted at a early age, an age to young to drive, but always had a chance to go. Life and learning animals was the greatest!
At the age of 16 I met my wife, Melissa and we have been together ever since. We have a beautiful daughter Alisha. My love for animals has rubbed off onto my family. My daughter has had many kills herself trying to keep up with her old man! My wife is an advide turkey hunter, although I can't get her to deer hunt bcause it is too cold for her, she loves hearing me come home and sharing my tales (tall tales) as she calls it.
Stanford Taxidermy is family owned and operated. My wife is my secretary and my back bone. She helps call our clients when mounts are ready to be picked up, or if there is anything in question. So, when you deal with our company you could be talking to me or my wife, Melissa.
As we take care of our clients we would love for you to keep one thing in mind.....
